Free to play. No purchase needed. One player per person; one call per round, which you can change until the round locks at 9 p.m. Pacific on the night of the edition.
Each round counts something that happens after it locks. It settles on the public source and exact query printed on the round, pulled at the time the round states. Late rows never reopen a round.
Points: an exact call scores 100. Missing by the line's usual miss scores 67, by twice it 33, by three times it 0. Counts are compared as ratios, so over and under are treated alike.
A season is two weeks: six rounds. Your best five count. Season ties go to more rounds that beat the line, then to the earlier average call. To win a season's prize you must play at least five rounds.
Prizes come from sponsors and are picked up in person, or sent to a name that matches the player. No sponsor, no prize that season; the game still runs for the title. The desk may remove names that aren't fit for a public board, and players found running more than one account.
Your email is never stored. The game keeps a one-way fingerprint of it, the same one the paper's email links carry, so one person stays one player.
